Consequences
Radical Ritual launches its first major participatory artwork this summer: Consequences. This large-scale community project reimagines how we connect with the Dorset landscape through collective storytelling, ritual, and art.
Taking inspiration from the surrealist game Consequences, where each player contributes a hidden part of a story or drawing, Consequences invites local people to co-create a new folkloric being. This new Giant will appear in sites across Somerset and Dorset, including on the hill beside the famous Cerne Abbas Giant.
More than 500 people will take part in Yeovil, from schools to refugee communities to disability support groups:
Fairmead School (neurodiverse students) created the Giant’s head
Able to Achieve (adults with learning and mental health needs) designed its legs
Yeovil Together (refugees and global majority voices) shaped the heart
60 Year 4 students from Birchfield Primary School imagined the feet
Together, these parts form a new collective being – a symbol of shared imagination, care, and belonging.
Radical Ritual was founded to reconnect people with nature and with each other, through acts of art, play and transformation. This first project lays the foundation for a movement grounded in equity, ecology, and wonder.
Look out for Consequences in September 2025, and follow the creative journey at @radical_ritual and our partners.
