CONSEQUENCES MAKES THE LONGLIST FOR THE ARTIST PRIZE!

Consequences longlisted for The Artist Prize 2026

200 artists longlisted for The Artist Prize 2026, chosen from 3,800 submissions by around 80 curators, artistic directors and artists from arts organisations across the UK.

We're thrilled to share that Consequences has been longlisted for The Artist Prize.

This feels like a moment to pause and think about the many hands that made our giant, in this massive game of Consequences inspired by the Cerne Abbas Giant. At its heart, Consequences was about belonging, about welcoming everyone to make their mark on our landscapes together. Neurodiverse teenagers, asylum seekers and refugees, adults with learning disabilities and primary school children from Yeovil all had a hand in shaping our giant.

The myths laid in the ground by communities many centuries ago, and the incredible flora and fauna on the hillsides, ground and made into paint, make up every bit of this giant. Every brushstroke carries a landscape, and every landscape carries the people who gathered it. Consequences was always about capturing both, the land itself and the hearts of everyone who came together to shape it into something bigger than any one of us could make alone.
