Performer / Facilitator Call Out – Tender Exchange
Radical Ritual are looking for a Performer / Facilitator to join us on Tender Exchange, a touring interactive installation exploring listening, trust and human connection.
We're looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, making them feel comfortable, and creating spaces where meaningful encounters can happen. This role is as much about presence and care as it is about performance.

Tender Exchange is a living folk artwork that invites people to pause and share what's in their heart.
Tender Exchange invites you to pause for a moment of connection in the midst of a busy world. Whisper something that matters to you into a carved wooden heart, a hope, a truth, a memory, or a thought you want held and pass it to someone you trust. The heart beats gently in your hands and your words become part of a shared listening ritual, a space where feelings are woven together, and held with care.
In a world more divided than ever, the power of community has never been more vital. Tender Exchange offers a simple yet powerful experience: a living folk exchange that celebrates generosity, vulnerability, and the quiet courage of being heard. It creates a moment where strangers meet with compassion, and trust grows through small acts of openness.
The Role
You'll work alongside the Radical Ritual team to welcome participants into the installation, guide them through the experience and help create an atmosphere that feels warm, open and supportive.
We're interested in hearing from people who:
Enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life.
Are naturally warm, attentive and empathetic.
Have experience in performance, facilitation, participatory arts, community engagement or similar work.
Are comfortable working within interactive art, installation work and creative uses of technology.
Are flexible, practical and happy to get stuck in.
Can help with setting up and packing down the installation.
Are comfortable travelling as part of a small touring team.
You don't need to know everything about technology or installation art already — we're more interested in finding someone with curiosity, adaptability and a genuine interest in people.

Initial dates:
28–29 August 2026
The Big Feast, Stoke-on-Trent
There is potential for further touring dates throughout 2026 and beyond, with opportunities shared amongst our team.
Fee
£200 per performance / working day
£80 per travel day
Travel will be in the Radical Ritual van with the wider team which leaves from Bristol/Bath area. Accommodation and Per diems will be provided.
